SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES

CREATING SUSTAINABILITY TOGETHER

At the Middle East Coatings Show, we are dedicated to promoting sustainability at our event and invite all exhibitors and attendees to join us in our efforts to minimize our environmental impact.

Below are some essential initiatives and guidelines to assist you in contributing to a more sustainable event:

FOR ALL ATTENDEES:

  • Accommodation - Utilise accommodation options situated within walking distance of the venue. By working with HotelMap, attendees can easily discover accommodation choices in close proximity to the event location.
  • Transport - Arrange travel plans with colleagues to promote sustainability by carpooling between the hotel and airport. This practice helps reduce carbon emissions and minimise the environmental impact.

FOR EXHIBITORS

  • Choose modular stands instead of MDF structures to help reduce waste and encourage reusability.
  • Opt for reusable and sustainable materials for corporate gifts and giveaways instead of plastic bags.
  • Repurpose custom elements from your stand and consider renting furniture to reduce resource consumption.

Printed collateral

  • Embrace digital solutions to minimise paper waste, and choose recycled paper when printing is essential.
  • Reuse any extra printed materials from the event.

ACTIONS TAKEN BY US, THE ORGANIZERS:

Digital solutions

  • We have replaced printed event guides with QR codes for attendees to access necessary information.
  • We offer digital versions of sales & sponsorship brochures for convenient access and to minimise paper waste
  • Throughout the event, we use digital boards at the Business Presentations Hub for the talks instead of printed agendas, which helps in reducing paper waste.
  • A lead retrieval app eliminates the need for printed business cards by enabling exhibitors to scan and monitor leads acquired at their stand.

Catering used at the event

  • Any remaining food is distributed to workers

Usage of thermal badges to avoid plastic pouches

  • Thermal badges are utilised as an alternative to plastic pouches. These badges come with built-in hooks, eliminating the necessity for plastic pouches. Moreover, users can easily reuse these badges at home for the duration of a three-day event.

Electric vehicles present on the premises

  • The Dubai World Trade Center venue features electric golf carts and provides employees with electric scooters for convenient transportation within the premises, aligning with DWTC's dedication to lowering carbon emissions.

Reusable shell schemes

  • We utilise reusable shell schemes to minimise waste from exhibition setups, promoting environmental sustainability. This initiative aids in decreasing carbon emissions and conserving resources by reusing shell scheme materials for multiple events events.

Reusable signage structures

  • We track how often and to what extent reusable signage structures are utilised at various events organised by different groups. This enables us to quantify the environmental advantages, such as decreased material usage, waste production and carbon emissions.

Build up & breakdown

  • Electric forklifts are utilised in exhibition halls during setup and dismantling to transport goods for exhibitor stands, ensuring that no combustion-powered vehicles enter the halls.

Sustainable suppliers utilised at the event

We choose to collaborate with sustainable contractors and suppliers that are in line with our company goals, which include:

We are always seeking ways to enhance the sustainability of our event. Let's collaborate to create a more eco-friendly event by starting with your first step at the Middle East Coatings Show.

Your participation is greatly appreciated as we strive towards a greener future!
